Dynamic means that you have a site with content that changes constantly. Blogs have dynamic content, so does CNN.com. Database Driven, means that your site has a database in the back end that you can't see. Do you know EXCEL? Or Access? And how those programs can create reports, and give you certain data that you ask for? Well, these websites can do the same thing. You can ultimately export all of the information that is on your site into a spreadsheet. This is very useful if you are looking to have an online store - you would be able to export a spreadsheet of your products, with how many you've sold, etc. You would also be able to export a spreadsheet with information on how many visits you've received, from where, and much more information, all because you've got a database collecting the information. For these kind of sites, though, you would need a webhost that supports MySQL and PHP. Absolutely. Included in your package price is education... or training... or whatever you want to call it. We will give you PDF instruction booklets, as well as talk with you over the phone, should you need it. And, if you live within driving distance we might even be able to meet with you in person and show you how to update your site on your computer. And, because we keep our business small, we basically have life-time support. So, should anything suddenly break down on your site, we'll take a look. However, depending on how much work it takes to fix the problem (especially if it was through no fault of our own), we might have to charge a small fee. HTML is short for Hyper Text ... something or other Language. Basically, when you see a site that doesn't have anything that moves, that's static, then it's most likely an HTML site. HTML sites can have elements of FLASH in them, or Javascript, but are mostly static. In simple terms- artwork that is on your computer and can be saved as a JPG. There are many other types of graphic files. What file you send us will depend on what we will be using it for. Ideally, your graphic should be bigger than you expect it to be on your site, this allows us room to make it any size without the quality of the image deteriorating. If you don't have artwork on your computer, that's okay. Your final price will be higher, and final delivery time may be later, however, we can scan artwork in. In short - no. A full website cannot be created overnight. The quickest that we can create, from scratch, a full website is 2 days. If you ave a template that you want us to use, then overnight might be possibility, but you should really talk to us first. Most of the time we can have your site done in a week. At this time, we do not offer Flash websites. They are time intensive to create, and difficult for you to update on your own. We do, however, make Flash content for your website. Absolutely. An HTML site can easily be made for you to update yourself. You will need a program such as Dreamweaver, GoLive or FrontPage to be able to do it with. For Flash sites, you will need a program such as Macromedia Flash or Adobe LiveMotion. We don't use templates, so you have a wide variety of choices. You tell us what kind you're looking for, we'll set it up, we'll have coffee, you're people will call our people, and then you'll have a site. If you have a template that you love, but it just needs some tweaking, no problem, we'll do that as well. We didn't design it, but that doesn't mean that we can't customize it! You can check out our Portfolio page to see more examples of our work. All work is done with a contract. This contract is legally binding, so we strongly suggest that you look it over before signing. It has the address of our place of business as well as our mailing address. The contract is used to make sure you know what you're getting, and so that we know what you're expecting of us. You can download our contracts from our Contracts Page. Before work begins on any project, you must fill out and sign the contract and send it to us (or fax it to us). We will then look it over for any changes and then sign it and send a copy back to you. As soon as we receive a signed copy from you, along with the deposit, work can begin. |
