For the past 6 years, I have been recording and producing Hard Rock, Electronic and Metal music. For 8 years before, I was co-producer on a number of albums.
I concentrate on getting a full sound where all the instruments can be heard, but not overpowering. Dynamics are important with the sound as well as with the songwriting.
In 2016, I wrote and recorded a full length album under The Raygun Girls name. I spent the following two months mixing and polishing the songs.
To get the thick guitar sound, I double the guitars and pan them left and right. I also distort the bass guitar and eq it to sit right in the middle of the guitars.
I always check my mixes on at least two different sets of speakers.
